How do I use it?
The Kameleon Camera is simple to use, easy to learn, and safe. Below we summarize the technical steps as well as the throat examination process.
We hope the Kameleon will provide effective support for your family whenever needed.
Using the Kameleon Camera with the USeePlus App
- Download and install the USeePlus app from your device’s app store
(iOS: App Store, Android: Google Play). - Connect the Kameleon Camera to your phone or tablet using the USB cable.
- Allow the previously installed USeePlus app to access your Kameleon Camera.
- Tap Photo to take a picture or Video to record a video.
- In Photo mode, press the large center shutter button to take a picture.
The same button starts video recording in Video mode. - In the bottom right corner, you can zoom the live image in 1.0×–1.5×–2.0× steps.
- In the bottom left corner, tap the square icon to view previously recorded files.
- In the top bar:
- the left icon rotates the screen
- the middle icon enables black-and-white mode (not recommended for throat exams)
- the right icon lets you compare the live image with earlier recordings
For medical evaluation, video recording is strongly recommended.
If technically possible, please always send a video recording.
Throat Examination
- Insert the “tongue depressor” (spatula) into the mouth of the prepared Kameleon device.
IMPORTANT: Do not place the Kameleon device itself into the mouth — only the tongue depressor! - Before the examination, make sure the LED light source is set to maximum brightness.
- Start the video recording.
- Holding the body of the Kameleon, gently place the spatula into the child’s opened mouth and carefully press the tongue downward.
For older children, ask them to alternately say “e,” “a,” and “ah.” This helps make the throat and pharynx clearly visible and allows observation of movement. - When you feel the examination is complete and the camera has captured everything, stop the video recording.
-
The device must be disinfected even after home use. The tongue depressor must be discarded. Always use a new spatula for each examination.
